1) I believe the teacher should have given more hands on activities rather than just stand there and lecture the whole time. Dance class should be more interactive with the students, so they can actually learn how to dance. Like I said before, the teacher did not give any hands on activities. You can tell the students were bored and were not learning anything. He should have taken a different approach when teaching this class.

I agree with Robert. Technology is being put more in the classroom at a young age. It is our job, as teachers, to make sure the students learn the most up to date way and an enjoyable way. This will be different from the way we learn, but we can learn as teachers, as well as teach the students.

3) I agree with the reason why he needs a teacher. No matter how much technology we have, we still need someone to teach us how to use it.

4) The video shows how students need to know about technology and how teachers are not always the ones to know everything. Students can teach and teachers can learn.

I somewhat agree. I just think students, people in general, do not need to completely depend on technology.

5) Elementary students are ahead in the learning race because they are more technology educated than graduate and undergraduate students. As an undergraduate student, I guess my position in the race would be considered behind.

6) Yes, flipping the classroom is very new to me. I think this could be a good thing for students and saving time in the classroom for questions and discussion. This could be useful and not be so overwhelming to students when they get to class and have to learn a new lesson.

7) I would say this was a good idea. I, as a student, love discussing things as a class. I feel as if I get a better understanding of things and can look at things from different angles if I hear other's opinions. I think it is a great idea to take different approaches to teaching, such as this one, because it will be more interesting for the students and help them understand more.

1. What are the things (if any) you have heard about EDM310?

I have heard EDM310 was not very hard, just time consuming.

2. What fears (if any) do you have about EDM310?

My fear is if the class will be hard. Once I understand blogs more, I think the class will be easy.

3. Compare and contrast EDM310 with other courses you have taken in college or high school.

Most classes I have had in the past have some type of paper. I have not had a class that requires a certain amount of hours each week for it.

4. What do you think will be the most difficult thing for you in EDM310?

I think the most difficult thing will be to make sure we have dedicated enough time to the class to make sure all of the work is complete.

5. What is the best way for you to address this “most difficult” aspect of EDM310?

I think if we have trouble we can ask the assistants or the teachers. Before we do that, we could probably refer back to the syllabus or make sure we have read the instructions completely. Another way could be to google our question.

6. What questions do you still have about EDM310? What ideas do you have about how to address those questions

I really do not have any more questions. I am just hoping to understand the course more so I will make a good final grade. If I have any questions in the future, I will be sure to ask them.

My name is Breanna McCormack and I am originally from Hurley, Mississippi. Since my mom passed when I was 16, I now live with my dad in Franklin Creek. I'm 21 years old and just recently graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. My hopes are to be an English teacher, elementary of course. I attend USA really because it is closer to home. I was not ready to move out yet, so I decided not to move away to USM and attend USA. I love my family. As I said earlier, my mom passed when I was 16, but i'm not one to talk too much about it because I don't like people feeling sorry for me. I have a wonderful dad and step mom, 2 sisters and 1 brother. My siblings are my whole world.

I really feel like the field of education is just the job for me. I enjoy watching children learn and grow. Children really need passionate teachers because not only are we providing them with education, but sometimes we are there to show we care. That is all children want, is for someone just to be there. That leads me to say, teachers in the 21st century have more than just a teaching job. Children these days get no love and care they deserve at home. Some children come to school wanting the attention they don't get at home. Teachers now also need to know how to work with technology. That is what the world is leading to. I'm not a lazy person, but I do LOVE Netflix.

My 2 favorite are OITNB and Grey's Anatomy. If i'm not cleaning, i'm watching one of those. Although, I have already finished both seasons of OITNB and I have to wait until next year for the next season. Well that is all about me. Happy blogging :)
